This afternoon I found at least two NELSON'S SPARROWS at the Alfred sewage
lagoons. They were in the cattails along the east edge of the west cell
(cell closest to road).

Today (Sept 28) I saw a Common Raven soaring over Point Pelee, south of the
Visitor Centre. It was first noticed as it was calling at regular intervals
although the first two times I heard it call, it sounded like someone shouting
in the distance. After about the third call I suspecte

The best birds of the week were two NELSON'S SPARROWS on Amherst
Island. Details below. Warbler and shorebird migration has begun to
subside. Widespread migrants during this past week included WOOD DUCK,
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, NORTHERN FLICKER, some lingering EASTERN
PHOEBES, BLUE-HEADED VIREO,
This morning at 8AM I found one of the NELSON'S SPARROWS mentioned by Jeff
Skevington and Bruce DiLabio yesterday afternoon. There are also a lot of
SWAMP SPARROWS as well, so it may take awhile before tracking down the Nelson's.
I personally did not have any problems today with the homeowner
