The male Harlequin is swimming along the far shore of the western side of the
port of Collingwood at 10:30 a.m. Come into Collingwood on Hwy 26 and look for
the old grain elevators on your right and follow the road out to the look out.

Hello,
The male and female Harlequin Ducks were being seen around noon at Arkendo
Park. They are almost straight out from shore, in the company of a female
White-winged Scoter.
Directions:
Arkendo park is at the lake end of arkendo road. Take Winston Churchill south,
turn right on Lake Shore,
Witnessed a peregrine chase off a barred owl. Otherwise, the Spit was quiet.

Three Brant were feeding from the algae-covered rocks near Thickson's Point
today. A Barred Owl was nearby in a grove of pines. Birds in Thicksons Woods
itself included White-winged Crossbill, Hermit Thrush ande Winter Wren.

Hi,
There were two Snowy Owls near Owen Point this morning. One owl was on each
of two tiny islands just west of Gull Island - very easy to see.
Directions to Presqu'ile Provincial Park (and Owen Point):
In Brighton, take Ontario Street south as far as it will go and it will take

The woodpecker was a juvenile bird and the waxwings were with one of several
flocks of Cedar Waxwings.
Carolina and Winter Wrens also seen.

Got out for a walk today in the beautiful warm weather along the rail trail S
of Gelert (S of the former Dutch Line). It was surprisingly productive. A few

About 30 birders showed up for today's Cobourg Harbour/ Presqu'ile
field trip. Birders came from as far as the Kingston Area,
Peterborough, the GTA and the Bruce to enjoy a fantastic (weather

Today, Kellie Superina and I birded the Long Point area. At 14.50, we observed
at least 290 Sandhill Cranes in a field of cut corn. Though this species is
common in the area, I thought the quantity was remarkable enough to be worthy
of mentioning. This is certainly the largest
I failed to find the northern hawk owl of bowesville rd , I and numerous
birders didn't saw it between 2-2:30 PM however I leaved at this point and the
bird might have been found later on.
About 10 sandhill crane where found and heard near milton rd, in the usual area
at around 2 Pm and an ident

Although there were many people looking for it (I counted about 14 cars), I do
not believe the Northern Hawk Owl was seen today. I was there from 12pm to
about 2:40pm but had to leave for a dinner out of town. I did stop over at
Concession 20 and Ste Rose for a quick look. Did

Both, Northern Mockingbird and Northern Pintail are probably the same
individuals from last year. Mockingbird sang for long time ( recorded).
Domestic duck was also present, probably the same individual from last year.
Gadwalls (20) occupied their eastern pond. There were Buffle
