This evening, at 7:30, I found a number of American Woodcock flying over
Kettle Road SW of Ottawa. I was also treated to Ruffed Grouse showing his
ruff on Kettle Road.
>From Ottawa, travel west on Fallowfield Road to Munster Road then 12 km
south on Munster Road to a T-junction with Kettle Road.

Today was the 4th day of spring banding by the Holiday Beach Migration
Observatory at Hillman Marsh. Not much turn over in passerines today with the
same species banded as earlier in the week. Details are as follows:

I had an Eared Grebe off Gibraltar Point on the Toronto Islands this
evening. It was still fully in basic plumage as far as I could tell. It was
initially very close to shore, but slowly swan further out.

Four greater yellowlegs were early migrants at Kaiser Crossroad today, along
with about 800 Bonaparte’s gulls. While a few of the gulls are seen during
migration each year, this number is exceptional – perhaps even unprecedented.

At 10:25am I observed an adult Little Blue Heron flying east over Dunrobin Road
near Riddell Road. I watched it disappear over the trees and did a quick check
at the marsh along Riddell Road. Unfortunately didn't relocate the heron.
