Today at 2:15 PM from the shore near Hutch's at Van Wagner's Beach I watched
two Short-eared Owls circling high and swooping low, very far out over Lake
Ontario in a brisk northeasterly breeze. At first they were so distant they
were barely visible, and somewhat perplexing to identify even with
Forgot to add the directions to Point Edward Lighthouse (Sarnia) where the
Eider is being seen.

This afternoon there were two beautiful ad male Harlequins just s of the mental
hospital. This hospital is about 2 km SW of 401 and Brock St. They were
assiociating with Canada Geese and wigeons south of the buildings.close to the
little point of land jutting into Lake Ontario.

My first Rough-legged Hawk this fall - a beautiful Dark Morph circling the
fields at the corner of Hamilton Side Rd and Ramsay Conc 12.
Directions: Head west on Hwy 417 out of Ottawa to Hwy 7 and take it west. Go
west until Dwyer Hill Rd and exit going north on Dwyer Hill. Go north to

ONTBIRDS is presented
Went over to Howe Island this morning (Tuesday 29th October) and got the
titmouse at about 8:30am. Seems to be associating with mixed flock of
chickadees, kinglets, House Finches and American Goldfinches.
