Early spring migrants continue to arrive with increasing numbers of CANADA
GOOSE, EASTERN PHOEBE,
Especially last Monday, migration at Presqu’ile Provincial Park has been in
full swing this week, with new species arriving every day. Most of the land
birds are within the expected range of arrival dates, or even a bit later, so
mention will be made only of those which have been recorded only
This morning at 8:30 I found one Eastern Meadowlark and one Eastern Phoebe
on High Road south of the Ottawa Airport.
To reach High Road, travel south from Ottawa on Riverside Drive. Riverside
transforms to Limebank and you should turn left on Earl Armstrong heading

The actual location is as follows:
- from Walkerton take Bruce Road 19 to the 14th Concession E(7th gravel
road)
- Go west (turn left) and the fire code is #1033. Note this is a dead end
road.

This morning there were several tree Swallows flying around our property.
Eastern Bluebirds have also been around for over a week.
Location is 4 km west of Bruce Road 19.

On Wednesday between 15:00 and 19:00 a couple of flocks of snow geese settled
in fields near Lancaster.
The larger of the flocks with about 5,000 birds was between 2nd and 3rd line,
and between 1st and 2nd concession. The flock was just north of the rail line.
