Just to clarify the sightings of the subject birds that were observed from 3:30
to 3:45 pm as close as 40 to 50 feet from us.
The two flocks of blackbirds were not together.

Hello ontbirders,
As of 8pm myself and 5 other birders teamed up and found at least two of the
Longspurs. They are difficult to find. I was very happy with my purchase of new
Wellington boots for the occasion. Good luck if you try tomorrow.

12 Brewer's & 19 Rusty Blackbirds in a plowed field on the Extension of
Troyer Side Road & Regional Rd. 60 (former Conc. 5). The field is on
the east side of Troyer.

The Long-billed Dowitchers found initially by David Pryor are still present
in a flooded field on James snow parkway in Milton.initially a group of 13
birds, there are now 7 remaining and viewed by a group of us.

I was watched and listened to approx. 50 raucous Rusty Blackbirds at 11:45
today on the Ashton Station Road. Mixture of males and females.
Directions: Head west from Ottawa on 417 to Hwy 7 and continue west on HWY 7
until Ashton Station Road. Exit south and go to the village of Ashton. After
The Hooded Warbler was NOT seen this morning. I searched [along with
several others] from 9:00 to 11:00 am with no sign of it.

I found a flock of 12-13 dowitchers about an hour ago on James Snow Pkwy in
Milton. The birds were located in a flooded field on the east side of the road,
about a half kilometre north of Britannia. Park at the car pull-off area (you
can't miss it) and look east over the edge of the concrete bar
At least 5 Smith's Longspurs were still in the grassy field on the west side of
Mersea Rd 21 just north of Road 2 early this afternoon. This is located on the
north side of Hillman Marsh in Essex County. Directly across on the east side
of Mersea Rd 21 there were 10 Willets in a flooded field an
Brisk south west winds again this morning making it cool at the Tip.
A few pockets of migrants have been noted throughout the Park.
A group of WILLET were at the Tip this morning first thing. As of writing this
report at least one was still lingering there. Birding was more comfortable
along t
Steve Charbonneau and I have found a Yellow-throated Warbler at Beach Access #
1 in Rondeau Park. A Blue-winged Warbler also in the vicinity.
Numerous warblers all along east side of park.

I got to Terry Carrise Park late last night and had an opportunity to see
the hooded warbler foraging on the ground and in the thick riparian shrubs.
He was still feeding when I left around 810.
Directions from Ottawa: Take 417 west to 416. Take 416 south to
Fallowfield. Go west on Fallowfield to
Barb Charlton, Eric Holden and I just had a Audubons Warbler at Pelee. It was
in a large flock of Yellow-rumped Warblers in post woods just north of halfway
stop. The flock moved north towards the tram stop.
