Recent sightings to November 5, 2015
The best bird of the week occurred just outside the region, near the Lafleche
Landfill
Although November is usually a quiet month for birding at Presqu'ile
Provincial Park and the fall migration has slowed down noticeably, the
past week continued to yield rarities, one in particular attracting
visitors from afar.
Both on October 30 and on November 4 TUNDRA SWANS were seen flying

For those who are stuck in the city and unable to participate in the six-
species wild goose chase near Casselman, there's currently a single Snow Goose
on the sandbar in Dow's Lake, visible from either the Arboretum or the Queen
Elizabeth Dr. side. You might even find a bonus Cackling

David Pryor just phoned to advise that the Pink Footed Goose was found this
morning by some birders at approx. 9:30-10:00. He has since relocated the
bird at approx. 12:15 scoping from the roof of his car.

Yesterday evening around 4:30pm, Kevin had an molting adult Pacific Loon at
Wheatley Harbour southeast of the breakwall (visible from the pier). It was
near a feeding frenzy of Common Loons and Red-breasted Mergansers.
