A cool morning but the sun and a number of birds have warmed things up.
Birding is fairly steady in the southern part of the Park from the reports
coming in. A good mix of migrants and locally nesting birds have been noted.
About 20 species of warbler have been reported so far.

800 Black-bellied Plovers already here with small flocks flying in all the
time. Also 20 Ruddy Turnstones, lots Dunlin, 50 Semipalmated Plovers, 2
White-rumped and other peeps, and more. Jeremy Bensette just spotted a Stilt
Sandpiper. We're watching a large Fox Snake stalking the shorebirds. Qui

The Marbled Godwit is still present today. A scope is required and the heat shimmer makes viewing difficult. After watching the Godwit through my scope for about 20 minutes it eventually raised it's wings and the cinnamon colored underwing was very evident. Other birders I sp

The Male Juvenile Harlequin Duck is still present at Springbank Park just below
the dam near the island. He is starting to develop the adult feathering. Still
a wee bit of juvenile colouring on his stomach and has yet to get the deep
burgandy colouring on the lower backside

It is a fairly good day to be out birding at Rondeau.
The east side of South Point Trail has been productive, but it has slowed
down to some degree. Yellow-breasted Chat has been seen a few times this
morning in the last 500 m before the washout. Cerulean Warbler has also
