At around 4:10 PM today, I had a dark morph Gyrfalcon fly past Peninsula B, chasing ducks, then land in a tree on Peninsula C before circling and drifting north. Sadly, the bird never came within ~75m of me, so I couldn't get good pictures.

Not rare, but I just had 4 woodpecker species in Lambton woods at 2:30 pm.
Many downy, 3 Harry, 1 Red Bellied and 1 maybe two Pileated. I had a very
good look at one 10 metres in front of me and was hearing one call.

Egremont Rd. (hwy 22) and School Rd. sitting in a tree, the second north side
again of Egremont at Robotham Rd. sitting on the roof of a barn .

The Carleton Place CBC took place on Dec 27th in the middle of this bitterly
cold patch (B. Frum Day) . 38 brave souls wandered the fields and forests
typically with only their eyes visible. In addition 22 feeders were monitored.
The count had low numbers both of individuals and species; 53

The 12th annual Linwood CBC was held yesterday, December 29th. Weather was
cold (ranging from -20 to -10), with calm conditions, and off/on snow in
the morning, before completely clearing in the afternoon.
A total of 33 participants gave the count slightly above average coverage,
Kingston Field Naturalists (KFN) maintains records in a 50km radius of
MacDonald Park, Kingston. Birders using eBird are encouraged to share their
