Not rare, but I just had 4 woodpecker species in Lambton woods at 2:30 pm.
Many downy, 3 Harry, 1 Red Bellied and 1 maybe two Pileated. I had a very
good look at one 10 metres in front of me and was hearing one call.
Also a brown creeper. I have been expecting for years to see Pileated
Found two juvenile snowy’s at noon today, the first was on the north side of
Egremont Rd. (hwy 22) and School Rd. sitting in a tree, the second north side
again of Egremont at Robotham Rd. sitting on the roof of a barn .

The Carleton Place CBC took place on Dec 27th in the middle of this bitterly
cold patch (B. Frum Day) . 38 brave souls wandered the fields and forests
typically with only their eyes visible. In addition 22 feeders were monitored.
The count had low numbers both of individuals and species;
The 47th annual Meaford CBC was held on Thursday Dec 28 under cold, but
windless conditions. The temp held at around -19 through the day, the morning
was cloudy, and visibility along the waterfront was very limited by a heavy
'sea steam'/fog vapour rising from the lake. Light, fine snow

The 12th annual Linwood CBC was held yesterday, December 29th. Weather was
cold (ranging from -20 to -10), with calm conditions, and off/on snow in
the morning, before completely clearing in the afternoon.
A total of 33 participants gave the count slightly above average
Kingston Field Naturalists (KFN) maintains records in a 50km radius of
MacDonald Park, Kingston. Birders using eBird are encouraged to share their
sightings with 'Kingston FN'. Alternatively, please email or post records
