A better view is desired so I will be back first thing tomorrow. For a
period of 10-15 minutes at dusk we (about 10 of including the finder Don
Graham) followed the tiny Dove that D G saw well earlier. I saw a very
small dove but was only able to pick out a small but stocky bird with?? a

Hello fellow birders.
Today October 24, after unsuccessfully searching for Franklin’s Gull( seen
and photographed yesterday at The Hagersville Quarry ponds, west on Concession
12 Walpole west of Hagersville) we did some extensive birding at the Townsend’s
Sewage Lagoons( west of Jarvis and SW
Just saw a female Common Ground Dove in the park at the NE corner of cell 2.
Flushed bird up from ground allowing me to see rufous outer wing and dark short
tail. On ground was able to see scaly pattern on breast and head, dark marks on
wings. Grey brown colour on nape indicating a female. Bird

The highlight this week was only a maybe, a possible PACIFIC LOON west of
Dick Bell Park on 19th. The identification waits the
Ontbirders,
Not to discourage anyone but entrance to these lagoons is not permitted at any
time to the public. From personal experience these lagoons are patrolled
regularly, and if you encounter a Region of York employee you will be asked to
leave.
Remember the OFO Code of Ethics.
