Today (May 19) between 2:30 and 4:00pm, we found a White-eyed Vireo at 151
Bartley Dr (on the road), in the area known as the Sparrow Fields. It was
vocalizing frequently and was photographed. Fairly secretive but it comes out
every so often and its vocalizations make locating it easy.
Today (April 28th) at Tommy Thomson Park, the White-eyed Vireo continued in the
Wet Woods, and the Eared Grebe (almost certainly the Ashbridge's Bay Park bird)
was seen on the east side of the spit, just north of the construction zone,
about 1km from the entrance.

Today, April 20th, on Dyer's Bay Rd on the Northern Bruce Peninsula at 2:45
p.m, a male Eurasian Wigeon in breeding plumage was spotted on the temporary
lake on the left side of the road. It was grazing on the edge of the flooded
field with a few American Wigeons and Pintails. A scope is
At Colonel Sam Smith Park in Toronto, between 9:30 and 11:00 am, a single
immature male Harlequin Duck was seen in the eastern bay associating and diving
with a group of Buffleheads.
Next, the Western Grebe was seen diving in the unfrozen part of the marina, at

At about 5:00 p.m on December 7th the three Ross's Geese reported yesterday by
Gavin Platt circled over the lagoons for about 15 minutes before landing in the
south part of the lagoon. Pictures were taken in flight, although it was

the Wiarton Sewage Lagoons. Phone-scoped photos were taken of the bird. It

Today, Sunday August 12th at 10:50, an adult Baird's Sandpiper in somewhat worn
breeding plumage was seen on Isaac Lake Rd just north of Wiarton. It was
feeding with other sandpipers on the edge of the large pond. The bird was still

female, nearly in complete non-breeding plumage, were found at the Wiarton
Sewage Lagoons. They were feeding and swimming together in the northeastern

At 11:00 a.m. on March 12 a Greater White-fronted Goose with a flying flock of
7 Canada Geese was seen flying along the shore of Lake Huron near Little Pike
Point heading north towards Stokes Bay.

At 11:00 a.m. on Sunday November 20, there were 469 Sandhill cranes in a
flooded field northwest of the junction of highway 21 and highway 10, just
north of Alvanley, farm address 018070. Submitted by Matthew and Anthony

ONTBIRDS
On July 4th, between 8:00 and 8:15 p.m, a Cattle Egret in adult breeding
plumage was seen at Isaac Lake Road just off Highway 6 on the Bruce Peninsula.
The Cattle Egret was sitting on a bale of hay, just beyond the marsh area (on
the right side of the road) in an agricultural field. Directions
