I am currently looking at 4 Black - necked Stilts in a privately owned
flooded field at North East Hillman Marsh Mersea road 21.
View from the road only. FYI Goose season starts tomorrow.
There are other shorebirds including Stilt Sandpipers as well.

After viewing the Townsends Warbler I found breeding plumage male Eurasian
Wigeon on the Rondeau Bay side of Erieau. The bird was mixed in with
Redheads and American Wigeons which made sighting it difficult.
Erieau is along the South shore.of Rondeau Bay.

At around 10am this morning a female Common Eider flew along the shoreline
from east to west at sheridain point. The bird joined up with 20 Red
breasted mergansers and flew towards the Ohio Bass islands.

also the one who found this duck in which you seek.
I know you do not know the waterfowl like I do at Hillman marsh so I will give
you a update on what is going on at the west cell

Duck with the Mottled having 'warmer' colouring of the body, head and buffy
throat. A Bright yellow bill that stands out with black at the base. It also
has very narrow white bars on either side of the speculum which is
blueish/purple.

Birders,
This afternoon my daughter and I observed a stunning Male Eurasian Wigeon at
the Shorebird habitat at Hillman Marsh also a single white-rumped sandpiper.
Also at Wheatley residence had a Gamble's White-crowned Sparrow feeding at a
feeder.

At about 8:25pm my daughter and I found a first summer Yellow-crowned Night
Heron on the east side of the Shorebird habitat. We flushed the bird from
the grass along the dyke and luckily the bird flew in front of us a landed
in a tree about 10m away.After about 15min of viewing we cou

April 25/05 Angus Campbell and myself found what looked like a "prairie
Merlin" north of Fish Point feeding on a blackbird sp. The mantle was of a
blue/gray and the underparts were a rich butterscotch colour and lacked a
strong "moustache". I have limited bird guides here and wish fo
t through
the onion fields till it turns into east beach road. follow this road north
till you reach the end and you are in the area where I saw the bird(S).

The Gry was also visiting the Hillman Marsh Shorebird Habitat and was still
around about 6:50pm till dark.
Hillman Marsh located 5km north of Point Pelee.
