Yesterday, at about 1 P.M. we had 16 Bohemian Waxwings sitting
atop a deciduous tree on Wyle Road, north of the marsh, while
birding the Cardin Alvar.

WE BIRDED ALONG THE NIAGARA RIVER TODAY, AND AT THE BOAT RAMP AT
QUEENSTON
WE HAD THREE BLACK VULTURES FLY OVER THE RIVER, ALONG WITH SEVERAL
TURKEY VULTURES.
AT DUFFERIN ISLAND PARK, ABOVE THE FALLS, WE HAD TWO TUFTED
TITMOUSE, AND MANY
WE SAW THE CATTLE EGRET THIS MORNING AT 10:15 A.M. WALKING AND FEEDING, VERY
CLOSE TO OUR
VEHICLE, ON THE DIRT ROAD ON THE NORTH EDGE OF THE FARM, WHERE THE CATTLE
ARE GRAZING.
IT WAS RIGHT AT THE CORNER OF HAZEN ROAD AND 8TH CONCESSION RD. ON THE EAST
SIDE.

On returning home along the Lake Erie shoreline today, from Long Point,
we had the thrill of seeing nine Bald Eagles perched together in the trees
on the South Side of Rainham Road, about a 100 feet east of South Coast Drive.
This is just east of the Ontario Hydro Plant.

AT 4:30 P.M. THIS AFTERNOON, WE HAD A SNOWY OWL
PERCHED ON A HYDRO POLE ON THE SOUTHEAST CORNER
OF COUNTY ROAD 10 AND CONCESSION 8 ELDERSLIE.
THIS INTERSECTION IS ABOUT 7 KM. NORTH OF CHESLEY,
AND ABOUT 15 KM. SOUTH OF TARA IN BRUCE COUNTY.

Further to Mike Street Bill Smith's sighting of yesterday, today
at 1:30 P.M. we found at least 30 Lapland Longspurs at the very
same location.
Many were sitting on the road right in front of our vehicle, and others
in the corn stubble close to the road on both
At about 12:15 P.M., today, we saw the Phainopepla in the
berry bush in front of 92 Addington, and then it flew into a
deciduous tree behind 88 Addington, where is rested at the
top of the tree in full view, for at least 5 - 7 minutes.
Great looks for many lucky birders.

About 1 P.M. today, we saw a Snowy Owl on the south side of the
Bruce-Saugeen Townline (between North Bruce Paisley) about
1 K west of green sign 1093. It was sitting on a fence pole.
Also, yesterday, we had two Glaucous Gulls sitting on the Dump on
Sauble Falls Parkway, between Sauble Falls
This afternoon about 1 P.M., on our way home from the Bruce, we saw at least
250 Sandhill Cranes
feeding in a grassy pasture on # 6 Highway, just south of Hepworth. They were
on the west side of
the highway, north of Park Head Road, and just north of green sign 018730.

The Varied Thrush was seen again today at 3:30 P.M. sitting in a tree above the
feeder On Grey Road No. 170 at fire sign 302087. (east from the town of
Shallow Lake).
An adult very white male Snowy Owl was seen at 4:30 P.M. today, sitting on a
hydro pole on the 8th Concession of Elderslie,
AT 12 noon today, we saw the Cattle Egret, in the exact same location as it was
last year.
From Dunnville, go southeast on County Rd. 3, through Stromness. Continue on
County Rd. 3 until it turns east (left). Look in the field, on your left
(north) where the cattle are feeding. It was
This afternoon at 2:30 we had excellent views of the Cattle Egret that was
found July 22nd.
It was sitting on the edge of a little pond behind the house on the west side
of King Road, just north of Regional Road 3.Cattle are in the field south
of this little pond.

Our bird-of-the-day was a Juvenile Northern Gannet seen above the Falls,
between the Control Dam and the Barge. It would sit on the river and feed,
