Five birders shrugged off the threat of all day rain and joined me for the
outing today. We did well at Colonel Samuel Smith Park as a mini fallout
produced 14 species of warbler, 3 vireo species, 3 species of thrush as well as

While watching a large flock of Pine Siskins feeding on Goldenrod seeds, Nancy
spotted a Baltimore Oriole in the flock. This is a late record for this
species. Good pictures were taken and I was able to rule out other possible
oriole species.

Fourteen of us, properly attired, enjoyed the beautiful birding weather today
starting at 8 AM at Colonel Samuel Smith Park in Etobicoke in the rain and
ending at 3:30 PM at Jack Darling Park in Mississauga, in the rain.
The group tallied a total of 65

from at least 1:30 - 2:20 PM. It was roosting and preening on a large branch,
on the north-east portion of the island in the large pond (with the viewing

forgot to ask your name) saw the Blue Grosbeak as it came into the Crabapple
