Birders,
Many people looked extensively for the Common Ground-Dove at Tommy Thompson
Park in Toronto this morning, but it has not been relocated yet as far as I
know (some may still be looking).

Just under 30 birders were treated to excellent birding on yesterday’s outing
to Toronto Islands. During our 8+ hours in the field (all on foot), we found a
collective total of 104 species. Highlights included great looks at a Sedge

On Saturday, September 1, 31 birders attended the OFO outing to the Toronto
Islands. I think the birding would best be classified as slow and steady.

Hello Birder,
For anyone planning on joining me for Saturday's OFO outing to the Toronto
Islands, please note that we will be taking the 7:30 am ferry (not 7:15 am
as noted in the OFO Field Trips list and website).
See you Saturday,

On Sunday, May 27, 5 birders joined the OFO trip to Skunk's Misery (located
in southwestern Middlesex County). I think the weather on the day was a
little too nice and as a result, bird song was already diminished by the
time we hit the forest. We still managed to get great looks at Hooded

Today's OFO outing to the Toronto Islands was attended by 26 birders. The
majority of these 26 persisted throughout the day (although our numbers
thinned a bit after word got out about the Chat at Colonel Sam Smith Park)
and were treated to a collective total of 96 species (95 + crow sp.). The

daycare building on Algonquin Island, which is at the west end of Algonquin
Island. First spotted by Eric Baldo.

Yesterday while taking part in the Toronto CBC, I found an orange-billed

have concluded that it was a Barrow's. I don't have photos, but will be

7 birders braved the forecasted poor weather yesterday to look for birds at
the Leslie St Spit in Toronto. The weather ended up cooperating (no rain).
Although it was a little slow, we still managed a good mix of birds.
Highlights included an American Bittern, 2 Short-billed Dowitchers, nice

Further to my message from yesterday, I've been advised that the Leslie
Street Spit is currently VERY wet, so rubber boots are advised for
tomorrow's trip.

Hello,
Due to flooding, I am changing the location of this Saturday's (May 6) OFO
trip to Leslie Street Spit (Tommy Thompson Park) instead of the Toronto
Islands.
We will meet at 7 am at the parking lot at the base of the spit (near
intersection of Leslie & Unwin).
