I saw perhaps the same bird at the same site on January 30, but then it was
between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Over the past few years, I've also seen merlins
perched atop

walk downhill to the lake shore facing Queen Elizabeth Driveway.
The bird kept to itself and didn't associate with the plentiful mallards.

one black tern and about six or seven common terns, a northern harrier, and
an immature bald eagle at the same gravel pit off Moodie.
