Hi all, Today while wading across the Conestogo River in St. Jacob's at 1 PM I
heard and then looked up to see a Killdeer flying just above the treetops.
The bird moved out of view quickly, flying east, but the call and then the view
made identification certain. I guess this system will p
Today (Sunday) at about 1230, I spotted a male Common Goldeneye at Bayfront
Park. It was resting on a rock only 2 metres from shore, at the 1600 m mark
that is painted on the paved path (near where the Black Throated grey was seen
this winter).

Tonight around 830 at the western end of Spencer Smith Park in Burlington I saw
two Red-throated Loons about 30 meteres off shore. They were easy to see with
binoculars no scope required. Even the naked eye gave pretty good look.
Spencer Smith park is located on Lakeshore Rd. just west of Bran
Yesterday, Thursday Feb 20, I was standing on county road 45 in Elgin county
near the hamlet of Calton, southeast of Aylmer. I was on the bridge crossing
Big Otter Creek when I looked up and saw an immature Golden Eagle
flying/soaring northward. Two of us had a great look at it for about two-t
, flying southerly
toward the lake. Had good looks, despite not having binoculars.
The time was approximately 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
