The bird reported as a possible Mountain Plover at the Hillman Marsh Shorebird
cell north east of Point Pelee is likely an aberant Golden Plover. A number of
expert birders have had very good scope views and all agree it is not a
Mountain Plover.

It appears that my Ontbirds post at 9:30 this morning did not go out.
At 9:30 this morning I found a Ruff, full breeding plumage on the mud flats at
the Hillman shorebird cell north east of Point Pelee. Was present only 8
minutes. Was initially about 120 meters away on mud flats for about 7 min
There is a Piping Plover on the west beach west of the Pelee VC now.

Four of us are on the Smew now. It is east of the Upper Canada footbridge near
the south shore near 5 Hooded Mergs. Would not be visible from the Ault Island
Rd causeway now since it is in a small bay.

For those of you considering travelling to see the Little Egret I think there
is a very good chance that the bird will stay at the present location for some
time today. The bird is in a shallow bay, can not be approached, is with a
Great Egret and both are feeding well in plain view about 40 me
The Little Egret is present now on the south side of Palladium Dr just west of
the Lockheed Martin building at 501 Palladium Dr. This bird appears to be
identical to the one seen near Carp June 2nd except that the 2 head plumes are

At approx 10:30 am today Jerry Ball found 2 Smith's Longspurs, 1 male near full
breeding plumage and a duller bird. Also seen by Ron Tozer, Mike Nelson, Ed and
Neeltje Leblanc and myself. Flew after 20 minutes and not yet refound. Were
seen east of Hillman Marsh on east side of Rd 21 about 300
The 4 Redhead reported localy yesterday continue this morning at 10:30 on the
Mississippi River east of the bridge on Bridge St ln Almonte.
