There is a juvenile American Golden Plover in Brampton at Dixie Road and
Countryside Dr.
The Plover is on the north-west side of the storm water containment pond on a
peninsula with some Killdeer, Ring-billed Gulls and Canada Geese.
Best access is to park on Countryside Dr across from Naperton
Brian Pfrimmer and I visited the Bracebridge Sewage Lagoons this afternoon for
a few hours. In addition to the previously reported American Avocet and Brant,
we also had a single American Golden Plover. It flew in and landed near us,

Park, Boat Launch. The bird was feeding just north of the Community bathroom
buildings.

Today between 11:00 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Hannah Maciver and I observed six
(6) American Golden Plovers at the above-mentioned wetland. All appeared to
be molting adults. Also present were four Black-bellied Plovers
facilitating a direct comparison.

American Golden Plover was seen just before noon in the south-east corner of
the Cell. It was not in crisp breeding plumage. It is a little late for going
north and a little early for heading south.

Jean and I observed the American Golden-Plover (observed yesterday at
Municipal Beach) at Jones Beach this afternoon (2:30 PM). Caspian Tern (2),
Sanderling (2), Lesser Yellowlegs (1), American Wigeon (2) and Killdeer (1)

Jean and I visited a few beaches in St. Catharines today (September 8).
At Jones Beach (11:45 AM), we observed an Osprey flying westward. One
Gadwall was observed with the many Mallards. Shorebirds observed included,
Least Sandpiper (2) Semipalmated Sandpiper (1) and Sanderling (2).

The shorebird activity concentrates on the exposed mudflats along the

I went to the area around the Moodie Drive Quarry Ponds.
At about 6:00pm, there were thousands of geese and mallards feeding in
the surrounding farm fields.
