Several horned grebes in various states of molt at Lasalle park at the west end
of burlington off lakeshore drive late yesterday.
Also a ww scoter that managed to swallow 4 huge conglomerations of what I
assumed were zebra mussels in short order. Must have a tough esophagus!!

Just before noon today, there was a Horned Grebe in the eastern cell at the
Alfred Lagoons. The bird was only about 50 yds from the observation tower,
offering great views.

There was a Horned Grebe in breeding colours at Prince Edward Point this
morning.
Prince Edward Point is at the southeast tip of Prince Edward County.

The little 'fella' appeared to be in very good shape and healthy and strong. A
co-worker took it home and released it to open water. Here's hoping it makes it

yellowlegs flew in to join the large bird population present on this day.

April 11 2012, When walking by the rocks at the Lake Ontario shore I came
across 3 Horned Grebes.
Scarborough Bluffs are located at Brimley Road and Kingston Road. from the 401
East, exit on Brimley Road, drive south all the way to the end, you drive down
a hill to the Bluffs.

Today there were at least three and possibly more Horned Grebes at Laurel Creek
Conservation area. They were easily visible from the concrete culvert on Beaver
Creek Road, along with a dozen or more Pied-billed Grebes. While this species

Horned Grebe in the creek that runs from Windermere Basin under Eastport
Drive. It was in the creek on the QEW side of Eastport Drive. I believe it's
close to the Woodward Drive exit from QEW Niagara. I got there from
Lakeshore Road in Burlington to Beach Boulevard to Eastport Drive.
An early morning walk around Lake Victoria produced a single Horned Grebe.
Also on the lake were 2 Hooded Merganser and several Bufflehead among the
larger numbers of Mallard, blacks and Canada Geese.

Today, December 29, my wife and I birded the Niagara River from Fort Erie to
Chippawa and
observed many birds. South of the International Railway Bridge (from the
parking area near Catherine Street), we observed a Horned Grebe at 12:00 pm.

Late afternoon March 12, a solitary , winter plumage Horned Grebe, was
spotted up-river of the Parkhill dam on the Grand River in Cambridge
(Galt). Other species were 3 Hooded Mergansers, approx. 16 Common
Mergansers. First Red Winged Blackbirds and American Goldfinches arrived
here on the 11th.
Today around 1:30 saw a single HORNED GREBE at Lasalle Park (by the boat
launch).
Later (around 2:00 pm) saw an adult PEREGRINE FALCON on the Eastport Drive lift
bridge - perched on the wires above the bridge.
