There seems to have been a Magnificent Frigatebird hanging around for the
most part of today in the Lighthouse Cove area. First reported on the
Ontario Bird Alert discord sever by Brett Fried at 12:30pm. ("Got a message
from a friend reporting a frigatebird sp. over Lighthouse Cove on Lake St.
Clai
Eric Briggs just called me to say that the Magnificent Frigatebird is perched
on a pole at the Happy Snapper marina at the intersection of Bevel Line and
Monarch Lane, southeast of Leamington, Essex County. Get it while it’s hot!

Magnificent Frigatebird flying southwest on Chemong Lake near Arnott Drive

I had a Magnificent Frigatebird fly past Thickson's Woods 20+ minutes ago going
west t,o east. Going to drive east to see if I can find it again.
Sighting was from Crystal Beach Blvd at the bottom of Thickson Rd. Exit 412 off
Hwy 401 and then 2 km south at the lake

It may be a false alarm, but could be worth having a look up if you are near
the shoreline.
Just getting the word out about a Magnificent Frigatebird west of Gravenhurst
and south of Parry Sound on the Georgian Bay near the Giant's Tomb island. I
did not see it (unfortunately), but I saw it reported on eBird yesterday. Great
find!

At 9 a.m. this morning the Frigatebird is back it it's 'usual' tree on the
jetty of Sturgeon Creek. I just adjusted the scope on the deck of Pelee Wings
so it is on the bird. Better views likely at 724 Robson Road.

The Frigatebird flew around by Pelee Wings and then headed north. It's
currently by the Leamington Marina. Easy to spot as the gulls have her
surrounded.
If she comes back and I'm here I'll post out. Todd Pepper has gone to the
Marina.

Frigatebird Update 12 noon July 1 2017. The Magnificent Frigatebird continues
to roost and rest in a tree on the north breakwall of Sturgeon Creek, Lake
Erie, Leamington, making brief forays for 30 - 45 minutes to cruise the

Sturgeon Woods marina, Leamington as of 6:20. Best viewed from south end of
Robison drive.

As reported by Andrew, the Frigatebird is currently being seen on Rodeau's
outer point.
It can be seen from the harbour entrance at Erieau looking straight across
to the southern tip, then working north perhaps 300-500 metres to the first
large clump of po plars. It's perched high on the right sid
