the migration of Sandhill Cranes to their traditional area in Navan has
begun this past week, count of 16 at noon today with number expected to
increase.
They are in the fresh cut corn fields east of Trim and North of McFadden.

10th line road.
Travel east on Queensway, head south on 10th line Road to the end and then turn
left on Smith Road.

Only 2, but showing well on Smith road west of Milton. In South field
just west of 736 Smith Road look south down the 1st drainage ditch about
200 meters

I had my first fall group sighting of 5 Sandhill Cranes (5:20pm) at their
usual location at Navan (Smith and Milton Road), Ottawa County. Their
numbers traditionally grow from this point into November.

The flock of 50 + Sandhill Cranes was still South of Smith Road, half-way
between Milton Road and Tenth Line this morning at 8:30 am.
Directions: Navan Road to Thenth Line, South on Tenth Line, East on Smith
Road.

At least 70 Sandhill Cranes have just flown into the fields south of Smith Rd
which runs west of Milton Rd. This is west of the village of Navan.

Just before noon today, September 29th, 8 Sandhill Cranes were seen on the
West side of Milton Road, South of Smith Road. They were feeding at the near
edge of the second field back from the road, giving us great views with
binoculars and scopes.

There were at least 75 Sandhill Cranes along Milton Road this morning.
A group of 71 came together into a harvested corn field northwest of
Perrault.
A single bird flew east over Milton Road.
And, a family group of 3 continues to feed in the field just east of
the bridge ove
The Sandhill Cranes were still in the harvested field on Milton Road today
about 2pm. Initially there were 8 birds in the far (northwest) corner of
the field on the left side of Milton just past Perrault Road. They were
soon joined by about 20 more Cranes that flew in from the east. We also saw

out across the back and right side of the field.
