There was a Great Egret at Cranberry Marsh at noon today. The bird was
perched in a willow at the north end, then flew down to the water's edge
to feed.
Cranberry Marsh can be reached by travelling south from Hwy 401 on Brock
Street [Hwy 12] to Victoria St. Then west on Victoria Street to Halls

through Thorndale and a large white mass in a tree caught my eye. By
During the morning hours of Aug.8 a Great Egret was visible in the eastern
waters of Cranberry Marsh-- it could be seen by standing on the mid-rail of
the north platform on the west side of the wetlands. Also 2 Ruby-throated
Hummingbirds were noted along the pathway to this platform.

A single Great Egret was in the centre of Rattray marsh about 10 this
morning. Nothing else of interest around.
Easiest way in to the marsh area is to exit south from Lakeshore Rd. in
Mississauga at Bexhill (between Mississauga Rd. and Clarkson Rd.). Drive to

We saw a Great Egret in the area of Grenadier Pond in Toronto's High Park.
It flew up and down the length of the pond. It landed once on the west
side of the pond and was assaulted by blackbirds.

Common Loon (fly over), Double-crested Cormorant, Black-crowned

On a walk today through Rattray Marsh, there was a great egret just visible
in the cattails on the western side of the marsh as seen from the lookout on
the northern hill. The bird was crouched down and looked very small.
Rattray is along Lake Ontario west of Lorne Park Rd. Easiest way to get to
