I know it's not possible in blackbox directly... but is it possible with
some 3rd party program to have multiple background images? One for each
Virtual Desktop?

use xv for example ('xv -root -quit [-max] background.img')
or Esetroot or whatever you like (==> freshmeat.net)

Sure thing. Use 'xv -root -quit blah.jpg' or 'Esetroot blah.jpg' Blackbox
doesn't care. Check your style conf file, though, it may set its own
background.

Blackbox doesn't do background images. Use some other program to do it.
I sometimes use xv.
