I am installing 'blfs' on P-III after lfs6 install. The Book blfs-svn-2005-08-05 says as
follows:
" Tip:If you don't have TeX installed but wish to generate and install the HTML documentation
(very good docs), issue the following commands:' make docs ' ""
I have not installed 'Tex' sinc

The ability to play files encoded with FLAC is what you lose. I
don't think that is a very big deal.

It was 'profound stupidity compounded' on my side. I had nglected to update the 'ld.so.conf' and that too on both the systems. Hahhh!!!

I had the same symptoms and error message. Followed the instruction suggested by DJ Lucas Reread the configuring X section...specicifically the " Adding TrueTypeFonts to X" section.Indeed the error was due to the improper configuration of the TTF section. Upgraded the fc-cache.
