I did some googling and found reports of a problem of flac-1.1.2 with
xmms on Gentoo and slackware.

Hi John,
try installing dhcpcd-2.0.1 instead of DHCP. I had a lot of problems until I
changed over, of course, this may have been my own fault.
I am now working smootly. At this moment I am in South-America, writing from a
public wireless access point , and dhcpcd has just generated
an /etc/res

Well, I dug deeper and found that although /sbin/dhclient-script is installed,
it doesn't appear to create /etc/resolv.conf. I even tried running from the
command-line, but no /etc/resolv.conf.
