Hi,
has anyone experience about the vmware video driver for the current blfs?
Now I'm using the vesa driver but the screen quality is poor and slow. I
tried the x86-vmware-video-10.6.8 but the X hangs.
Thanks

Thanks Thomas for your suggestion, with xorg-cf-package installed it's
better, I have to notice that another error appears during the make step.
This error seems to be due to the gcc 4.4(installed in the LFS 6.5). I've
downgraded to the 4.3 version and the build is ok.

Thanks William.
Shall I have to rebuild even the kdelibs? I've rebuilt the Xorg utilities
with imake together but the error persists.

Hi list, unfortunately I've encountered another issue. I'm building the KDE
and when I try to configure the kdebase I get the follow:
checking X paths... failed
configure: error: /usr/bin/xmkmf (imake) failed.
Make sure you have all necessary X development packages installed.
On some systems a mis
checking X paths... failed
configure: error: /usr/bin/xmkmf (imake) failed.
Make sure you have all necessary X development packages installed.
On some systems a missing /lib/cpp symlink is at fault.
I have a link from /usr/bin/cpp to /lib/cpp.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Thanks lux-integ, unfortunately my Xorg stops before creating the
xorg.conf.new. I need to create this file, but I don't know how.

I've recompiled the xorg server with the path to fonts (/usr/share/fonts/X11
for my case) and reinstalled the two drivers.
The Xorg still not create the xorg.conf.new and the screen remains black.
The log is changed and don't reports any errors. Here attached the log.

Sorry, I get a mistake, the book I'm using is the svn version of the
2009-11-11.
Try to resend the file.

I'm followiong BLFS 6.3. It crashes when I type the command "Xorg
-configure"(X window system components page). The file xorg.config.new is
not created.
Here you find attached the Xorg.0.log file, it contains some errors.
If is important, the env $XORG_PREFIX=/usr.
Thanks.

Hi, I've installed the X window system under my LFS, but when trying to
configure (Xorg -configure) the screen becomes black and remains in this
state, so I need to reboot.
My LFS is running under VmWare Fusion.
Thanks for any help.

Yes, you're right. Packets weren't in the correct order.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi list,
I'm compiling the X window System, I get errors during the build of the Xorg
libraries:
No package 'xext' found
No package 'xt' found
No package 'xmu' found
for the libXaw library and others.
Can you suggest me how can I install these packages?
My BLFS book is the Version svn-20091110 and
