I've installed mysql following the blfs instructions
on a couple different machines. I've noticed that
frequently when I restart the mysql daemon, the
permissions on /var/run/mysql are changed to 770,
meaning clients cannot connect until I do chmod 775
/var/run/mysql. Can anyone give me a clue a

I'm preparing to install MPlayer using the current
online BLFS SVN snapshot and noticed that I get a
different md5sum for the file Blue-1.4.tar.bz2 than
that given in the book. I've tried downloading it
several times from different servers (all on the
MPlayer home page) and consistently get
