Question about compiling gcc (f77 in particular)

I am going to be installing f77 based on the information from the blfs wiki on compiling gcc-3.4.6 with c and f77 compilers only. My questions are: 1) Is it possible to only install f77 (--enable-languages=f77) ? When I built BLFS-SVN a year ago, I think there was something that needed f77/g7
