but I just started using evince in combination with mozplugger http://mozplugger.mozdev.org/ for Firefox. Their configuration file already includes entries for evince. Still not as nice as a natively written plugin, but it works pretty well, and now I have absolutely no need for Acrobat Reader

Reader 7.0 needs libstdc++.so.5, if you compile gcc-3.3.x and copy the library to /usr/lib it will work. It might complain that api module PPKlite.api is not loaded, to avoid this you can delete the module in "/opt/AcrobatReader7.0.1/Reader/intellinux/plug_ins" or what your path might be. cz --
