No, you cannot switch to another synthesizer with Narator. You can do that
with NVDA, Jaws, Window Eyes, Hal, and SystemAccess, however.

You can't change the voice of Narrator despite the voice combo box being
available in the voice dialog box. This has been fixed in Vista, and was
apparently fixed in 2000, but not XP.

Under XP and IE 7 at least Internet Explorer Favourites are not normally
used for storing documents. I cannot comment on Vista. In XP Favourites are
normally a set of URL links to locations on the internet that you want to
return to frequently.
I have not tried to store documents in Favourites
Hi all,
I was doing some maintenance on my father's PC. I was using cCleaner to
remove junk from his hard drive, and I've now discovered that it's deleted

I have encountered the problem with other programs also.
The work around I use is to route Jaws to PC using insert and numpad

as an afterthought, the browser history is not saved in the cookies,
only passwords and stuff. the browsing history should sit within the

but cookies removal disabled will definately keep the program from

You can have a different voice with narrator, but you must install an older
version. I remember there was discussion on another list, but I didn't pay
much attention to this.

Hi Mike,
If you have C Cleaner installed, that is a registry backup.
No need to do anything with it
Should you have a system problem after running C Cleaner,
that is a file that it would use to restore your registry to it's previous
state.

Hi Mostafa,
Try this:
http://www.jaws-users.com/programs/Windows/narrator5.0.2195.6619.html
Keep in mind, that this will only offer other voices to choose from if you
have them installed on your computer.
If you want to switch to this version of Narrator on the fly,
you will need to create a
Unfortunately, you cannot change the default synthesizer for Narrator. If
you find it annoying as most people do, I recommend downloading the free
NVDA screen reader which has a number of different Sapi 4 and 5 voices to
choose from, including Eloquence.

Hello list,
Is there any way of retrieving files from a hard drive
that was in a password protected XP machine?
The machine will not boot into Windows, and I can access the drive after
removing it from the machine,
but, it will not allow me to copy the personal data files.
Any suggestions
