It's actually a very simple updating process. The updater downloads the
component list and selects them all by default. The last time you press the
next button, the updates are installed and you'll hear confirmation and a
finish button.

The updater automatically selects the updates for you. Even if your screen
reader says the components list is empty, just click the next button and you
should be ok.
