The thing is, Jacob, I'm trying not to do it that way. this computer is for
a former student of mine and though I managed to set it up the way I want it
on my windows 7 netbook, I can't seem to do it on this laptop.
I really can't say that I like windows 7, but that's me.

ON my windows7 machine, where the display theme is set to windows7 basic,
from search box, if I arrow up once, and then right once, and then down
arrow a couple of times, then I can sort of find something similar to the
older windows XP start menu, if I then hit like the letter A until it
focus
I can't seem to get the start menu to show up in windows 7. I've gone
through the start menu customization, but it still doesn't show up under the
search box.
Please can someone help me with this?

After a certain MSSE update things changed in the system tray as to how MSSE
reports its status, it now reads, " PC Status, Protected," in the system
tray, instead of, " Computer Status Protected.".
