I do not know if this applies in this case. There are menu items for the Desktop to Hide the Icons or gadgets on the Desktop. Press Windows + d to go to the Desktop. If any Icon is selected, press Control + Space to unselect. Now press the Applications key. In the View submenu there is a menu
