Actually, I believe you have to manually enter the dollar amount from the
keypad.
Doubt that we will have access to hand writing at the computer anytime soon,
since OCR technology isn't perfect for type written characters.

AdobeX in the General tab the checkbox, Enable Protected Mode at startup,
