Hi John, Here is a better explanation of the settings I suggested changing. In AdobeX in the General tab the checkbox, Enable Protected Mode at startup, needs to be unchecked for Jaws to work correctly but, this checkbox is not in the General tab in AdobeXI, it's in the Security Enhanced tab.

Apparently, you do not have administrative privilages on that computer you are using. If this is a computer in an organization then users are restricted due to some IT policies. If it is your home computer then the username or account you are logging in with is not an administrative account. This
