It fixed it temporarily. When I logged out then logged in again I had the
same behavior with the map not being loaded again. Is one or more of my
configurations wrong?

Correct! running /tt_dw/bash/update.sh I answered a to y/n/a/q prompt and
a file downloaded I had never heard of before and patched other files in
the game. I ran /r apothecary garden and this time hit 1 then enter and
was taken right to the gate of the garden. If anyone else decides to try
this

I've never played DiscWorld so this may be a very noob question, but can't you
carry a light source of some kind so you don't have to wait for daybreak to do
whatever you're trying to do? I ask because, if time runs as quickly in
Discworld as it does in Alter, you'll have to move fast once it do
