I expect a small sump filled with crushed rock would be enough. Sounds like the
ground is mostly back fill with ash so it probably drains really well. I think
I would just form a short length of pipe into the floor with a grill over it to
keep debris to a minimum.

When things get really hot there is smoke and carbon formed some of which is
really hard to clean away. I have some spray for cleaning pitch from saw blades
and router bits which I soak the collet in then after some hours scrape or
scour away what I can.

Comparing the price of a collett to the price of a router bit, I'd replace the

Hi Jim,
Well, I've read a lot of British books talking about paraffin stoves.
this puzzled me at the time as I thought paraffin was a wax. Then one
of my teachers who worked on bicycles had learned from a British book
bike book that paraffin was kerosene. it could be that they use the

I'm wondering if perhaps, if you have one of those plugs that works on a lever,
if something hasn't got tangled up in there, like a hair tie or just some hair
build up. I would think you could either run some drain cleaner through there,
or disconnect the lever and remove the plug to see if the

One might not clear the clog, the first time. So after the chemicals clear
the gunk, you can put 1/4 cup of the stuff down every month or two to keep
it clear.

if he ran water pressure from a hose, down the drain below the elbow; the
problem is above the elbow.
You may want to let some draino take the gunk out of the j bend, or elbow.

Max,
Sometimes it doesn't work quite that way. When my bit got jammed in
there, I used the wrenches to loosen, but at some point it just stopped
and wouldn't loosen any more. The collet was seriusly jammed. My
brother-in-law told me it happens and I should clean it out more often.

When you loosen a collet it comes loose in two stages. You turn it and it
feels loose but the bit shank has not been released. As you continue to
turn it in the loosen direction it resists again and for me I need to use
the wrench again to go past the second stage. Once past that the bit is
Keith,
I've had this happen as well. I lost one bit getting it out by smacking
it with a hammer, but have managed to salvage another bit when the same
thing happened. Loosen the nut all the way and pull the collet out.
Then blast out the hole with compressed air or jam a cloth down in there

What to do with a sticky half inch router collett? I had to, sigh, use a

I am with Dale on this one as far as a possible vent issue. we had a
similar problem and it , the draining problem was caused by bees or
hornets down inside the roof vent / stack. see if you can get a
