Will you still be able to raise and lower the table when you modify it like
this?
A heavy cast table is also helpful in damping vibration and what about
keeping the wood one square in all dimensions?
Hard to know without seeing the actual arrangement.

I was just down looking at my drill press. I think that if I remove the cast
iron table and make a foundation for the new table my problem will be
solved. I think I can take a piece of plywood about 6x12 to place over the
hole where the regular table mounts. Then drop two bolts down and through
I will.

Well our trip to the candy store is canceled they have a winter storm watch
in the area. Next week there is some warm weather forecasted. Anyway when I
get up there I will talk to them about the drill press modification that I
want to make. I don't see any problem except that the part that tight
I am sure it would be fine so long as you have the correct size but have you
considered boring a hole through the head of a bolt and inserting a bar like
used to tighten pipe clamps so you don't have to find and fiddle with a
wrench?

As long as the threads are the same there won't be any problem. And since
you are considering a table, it might work better anyway.

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] drill press modification
On my drill press there are locking screws to keep the table in place. These
screws have wooden handles about 3 inches long. I do not have enough
strength in my hands to make them tight enough so that the table does not
move. I am wondering if there would be any problem if I replaced the screws
Recently replaced our bathroom sink faucet with a neat new Price-Fister.
Got a slightly taller unit, not the U spout type but maybe just an inch
higher. Really makes it easier to use.
Of course normal install heights are supposed to work for everyone including
kids, and we have no such rug rats a
I think it was Betsy asking about the roll up screen doors.
My brother and sister in law have 2 of them on doors that are next to each
other on an inside corner so swinging doors wouldn't work.
They like the doors but agree that if you go through with both hands full of
stuff, it's nearly imposs
Interesting subject line but think of that next time you descide to do
some remodeling . Maybe you are redoing a bathroom or kitchen. there is
a standard height for counters ,etc. However if I was to redo
something from scratch I'd deside to lay an extra 2 by four at
least along the
