Alright now, I know you are an all American male, but, really, don't you
think you should have someone read the set up and alignment instructions?

What I would do is set my rotomatic to the desired length. Then, I
would put the rotomatic on the board, slide the board until the
rotomatic grazes a saw blade tooth pointing toward the
rotomatic. This works great on my table saw and eliminates any need
for making any marks.

I realize we each have our own ways of doing things. I'll discribe my method
of accurately cutting a board on my miter saw or
radial arm saw in hopes it will be useful.

Thanks Terry. I tried that with a two, by four and my blade didn't touch
the corner of the board, it touches the top surfaace of the board. Any
suggestions?

Do you have a miter saw or a sliding miter saw? You need a sliding miter
Have them go through all the set up things when they come. They can check
runout and square as well as the laser.

Well, I have a laser guided compound sliding miter saw. Obviously, the laser
is useless to me.
The other day we were in a hurry to cut and glue something so we could leave
for a few hours. To save time I had Karen align up the saw with the laser
for a quick cut. After the cut was made it was
Lenny, are there instructions for aligning the laser? My drill press
came with such instructions.

No, there is nothing in the book. They said that the laser beam comes
through what looks like a camera lens. They got it close

Chances are it was right to start with. Most lasers are only accurate when
the motor is at its raised point. The closer you get to the wood the
farther off the line the laser goes. But if you bought the master
protection agreement don't say anything
