Hi,
I have seen it done professionally, usually to restore those old claw foot tubs
that people like to have for nostalgic purposes where price isn't the object.
Mostly though I think it is a professional job, pretty difficult as a D Y I

I had someone do mine. It turned out fine, but I wouldn't consider doing it
myself.
Without some experience, it seems to me this is one of those jobs you can't
afford to mess up.
Blessings,

Shawn,
A friend of mine just reglazed her bath tub. She said it was a lot of
work, but not especially difficult. She had to put three coats on, and
use a special cleaner before each coat. And the tub had to be perfectly
clean and dry each time. So she said it took her the entire day, and he
Dan, was this a porcelain tub, or fiberglass?

Sorry, I've been away for a week. If this hasn't been answered in the 800
emails I have to wade through, you can use a heat gun to soften it.

Claudia,
Does your basement extend below the bath tub? If so you should be able to
inspect under it.
Regrettably, many plumbers are disrespectful of floor joists when installing
drain and sewer pipes, I have seen it time and time again when they open stuff
up on programmes like This Old House.
Claudia,
Do you have a tub or a one piece tub enclosure.
Seems like if it is the one piece kind, you'd
feel strangeness at the top of the enclosure.
