I would recommend the metal vent hose. It just works so much better.
Now, as for the flapper valve, so long as your dryer is electric then the
only thing you need to consider is the increased humidity and possible lint.
When it got really cold last year I ran the dryer from time to time in

What I know about the corrugated plastic flexible hoses is that they are
implicated in dryer fires.
As for venting directly into the house, the very fine lint which remains in
the air stream is said to be pretty harmful to health. I have run a dryer

a natural soap and use no product in the drier.
Having said that would you suppose that it is still not a good idea to vent
into the house?

That is one of the advantages of living out in the country. We have these
things called clothes lines they work well. A bit more work and they don't
work worth a hoot in the rain.
But it is worth the energy savings.
