Problem with 0.5.93.1 Linux with initrd

I tried grub 0.5.93.1 with RedHat 6.1 and it says: Selected item doesn't fit into memory (or similiar) The initrd is about 300 kB in size, the kernel 1.5 MB. With grub 0.5 this works. Has something changed with the limits ? Or what could have gone wrong ? I reinstalled 0.5 and all worked again.
