It's from the fix for issue 2193, which I argued is misguided. Beams
shouldn't encompass rests from other voices.

beams are now attached to the corresponding stems - but look at the 2nd
quarter of example 1!
(no idea if this is caused by or related to this patch)

Can't write music anymore...thoughts too clear...LilyPond development makes
brain mushier, thus more conducive to composition...
