As I mentioned the hardware runs fine with OpenBSD 4.9. I also tried the latest snapshot (ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/snapshots/i386/cd50.iso) Same problem. The hardware also runs without any problems with Debian Squeeze. I haven't done any firmwareupdates and checked the BIOS settings.
