I agree. I like to call Camp Harlem Reel. It gives partners one last
gypsy/swing while the band can fly.

Can you send the moves to Marianne the Magnificant? I am calling two gigs in
non AC place in July and August.
Does anyone know any other dances that would be good for hot weather and not
exhausting for the dancers? Please share.
Thanx

Welcome as well from the Santa Cruz mountains of California. Good to see

I have used a hand held mic, one on a cord and a headset. Each is good for
different reasons. Hand held, you can move around the floor calling and
watching the dancers but it is cumbersome to teach with. Remaining on stage
with a mic on a stand is fine after you have taught the dance, prompt
I think barb has a point. As a caller I am hired to teach and run the dance
while working with the band and dancers in the most efficient and effective
way. At the same time, I make it enjoyable so that most of the dancers stay
even after the break because they are having fun, which is a key

When I program, I try not to do more than 3 of the same moves in most of the
program. Sometimes a ladies chain, circle L 3/4 or R/L will show up in many

more than 3 dances, I try to change them up (e.g if it

Thanks for the help. I thought the shadow would be next to you on the side of
the set. I can't wait to call this one. Unfortunately I won't be calling
again until March 16. Does anyone have or know where to find any dances
pertaining to St. Patty's Day?

In Groundhog Daze how would you teach this? If you are next to your partner in
becket where is your "shadow" in relation to you? Is he next to you on the
side or across from you your Nbr? Can't seem to figure this out. Help please.
Thanks.

This dance sounds really cool but I need it written out for me step by step to
visualize it better. Could you send me your version and how you teach the
dance? Would love to learn it and use it down the road at one of my gigs.
Thanks so much.

I totally agree with Greg. Many times I have come across callers or "helpful"
dancers on the floor trying to explain while I was teaching. One time I just
