Hi Jim,
We put in such a floor in our house. A retrofit is tricky as we couldn't add
much height to the floor because of the existing doors and window. In the end
we designed a sprung wooden floor that is added just over 1 inch.
The basic design was heavy neoprene pads 2"x 2"1/4" about 1 foo
The Charlotte, NC dance group had put a great floor down on concrete
that they built themselves. The floor itself is plywood, and it is
suspended about a half inch off the concrete by padded bumpers. Copying
Dean Snipes on this -- he was one of the main folks building the floor.

We are currently adding on to our house and when done will have a 50’ x 20’
family room/dance hall. Ultimately we want wood flooring, but our starting
point will be finished concrete. I am looking for advice on and
experiences with installing wood floor over concrete.
