Yet to have an Eastern Phoebe here this year, but got to watch a Northern
Mockingbird do a pretty good imitation this morning.

Over the past couple weeks of cold since Phoebes arrived I have seen them often
dropping to the ground like Eastern Bluebirds for more sedentary prey. I also
recently watched a Phoebe eat several Poison Ivy berries. Phoebes’ adaptability
lets them survive despite the shortage of aerial food.

I had my first PHOEBE today on Eastern Heights walkway near water tower. It
was desperately trying to find a bug to catch in the cold weather!

Yesterday morning at Sapsucker Woods, the starlings were doing kingbird and
wood duck and meadowlark (among others, no doubt).
Meanwhile, there was legitimate singing from chickadee, titmouse, cardinal:
sounded and felt like spring!

I swear I've been hearing an EAPH singing the past few days... just around

This morning, while surveying my back yard
where I have a bird feeder, an Eastern phoebe
flew into our garden and landed on the tip of a
garden stake. Less than 10 feet from me, it
bobbed its tail a few times while I observed
it with my binoculars, then it flew off.

Hi All,
I took a walk today with my dog and I saw an Easter Phoebe on the Charlie
Major Nature Trail in Skaneateles. It was at the 2nd bridge coming in from the
Franklin Rd. entrance. There were also a large flock of Cedar Waxwings, a
Brown Creeper, Cardinals and Chickadees singing, Goldfinch
