Hi Cayugabirders,
The Hermit Thrush I first saw (and initially mid-identified) in my backyard a
couple of days ago has been coming to feed on the blue "berries" on my
scavenged eastern red-cedar branches throughout the day so I set up a blind and
spent the afternoon photographing it.

Hi Larry and all,
Fox Sparrows are just peaking now out here in the hills around West Danby. This
morning they seems to be everywhere, and easy to spot because the world is
white again (groan).
I was just watching a couple of Hermit Thrushes eating sumac berries.

This morning as I casually looked out our bay window to see how the
birds were doing, a bird landed on our clothesline pole. I could tell
it was different from the others, so when I looked through binocs, it
turned out to be a HERMIT THRUSH. This is an unusual bird for our

Ha ha. Weren't you lucky!
Well, we used to have an Oven Bird that moved through checking out our wood
chip path where it found things to eat. If we all leave leaf litter around the
edges of our properties they will find it worth their while to stop by.

?Hi all,
Just before sunset, I heard a Hermit Thrush singing from Six Mile Creek side of
the road and the sound coming through closed windows of my home office! I have
heard in the past Wood thrushes. This is the first time I heard a Hermit
Thrush! May be a passing migrant. Once there was a si

Heard my first-of-year HERMIT THRUSH sing a few faltering times this morning
outside my window at 6 a.m., out here on Shindagin Hollow Rd in Brooktondale,
next to the state forest. It was soon replaced by the robust song of the WINTER
WREN that sings every morning in the valley below.

There was a HERMIT THRUSH on Wilson Trail just past the West Trail at
