I have had 16-21 siskins at my feeders for a couple weeks now. It's pretty
cool watching them. They move so quickly, that it is hard to get an
accurate count. Good luck with the bears!

I haven’t seen them yet today, but for the last 3 days a flock of Pine Siskins
has come to my feeders, where the only fare is black oil sunflower seeds. The
Siskins have only been present for a few minutes at a time, so I have to be
vigilant and lucky. The maximum has been 26, which is a real s
~23 Pine Siskins, along w 4-5 Goldfinches, enjoying nyjer seeds on my deck
railing!

This morning (Wed) I counted a 25 Siskins at our feeders, although there may be
many more. They are skitish and fly up alot so it's hard to get an accurate
count. Also many Goldfinches and a few Purple finches. Three Fox sparrows
continue to hang out as well.

It's been a long winter without Pine Siskins but there are 3 at the feeders
this morning. Also a small flock of Cedar Waxwings on a crabapple. Several
seem to be paired, feeding and moving together. One Tree Sparrow still

Right now there are a few siskins feeding in cedar trees on Green St. adjacent
to Agway.
The timing and conditions look good for hearing great egret night flight calls
tonight. My past experience suggests that 8:30-10PM is the window to hear
egrets, presumably individuals or

season. This morning there was a large flock of American Goldfinches littering
the trees and with them were at least six Pine Siskins. Clearly either feast
or famine at my house. The goldfinches who were already in t

Susan, Ann, and I just returned from the Summer Hill area. There were
several PINE SISKINS at feeders along Lake Como Rd - #1182. This is
just south of Nick's house & feeders.
On our way home we detoured east of Elm St Ext to watch a flock of
some 60 Horned Larks, 2 SNOW BUNTINGS, and 3 LAP
While out with one of the dogs a few minutes ago, I had a flock of
some 25 Pine Siskins fly over, calling, and heading SE. Snyder Hill
area.
Also my first White-throated Sparrows of the fall, singing in the
shrubs.
