Had one, maybe two, at jetty woods as well this morning for the cac activity, a
silent one seen before the Osprey platform fairway, one heard singing from the
middle of the woods.
Great looks at the cormorants' double crests as they establish nests on a

Ken,
Yours may be the first migrant Brown Thrasher this year in the Basin, but two
were found overwintering in February. The first was on Ferguson Road west of
Dryden, showing up at a feeder when a big snowstorm hit, then staying for over
a month. The second was noted by Jay McGowan on NYS-89
This morning I had a Brown Thrasher in my yard foraging in the leaf litter and
along the back edge of the lawn. Ebird listed it as rare so I though I better
get some pictures. Link below.
I guess this might be an FOY for the basin. Sure is for my property.

I did put out a dish of water and also a dish of mealworms. I lead an
odd life so I have not been outside yet. I will report as soon as I find
out if the bird figured out how to fly down and out.

I was thrilled to see a Brown Thrasher in our yard, until one went into

very concerned, Brown Thrasher calling anxiously. This second bird has

I'd been thinking there might be no Brown Thrashers nesting at my place this
